12 Step Discussions

One semester every year we work through the 12 steps in the following way: we use 2 or 3 introductory sheets, 1 or 2 sheets for each step and several “inventory sheets” at step four. There are seasonal materials for Christmas and Easter.

These sheets, both those that look at the 12 Steps from a Christian view and the topical sheets, are working drafts. Take what is useful for you and leave the rest. I am currently writing and organizing, and filling in gaps at the current time. If you would like updates of new material – both revisions of what you have in front of you and new topics, send me an e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Working with individuals coming off the street with restricted literacy levels has caused me to make 2 choices in writing:
  1. one page limit – more than one page and it’s too daunting for many to even attempt to read
  2. 1700 word vocabulary – only some of the files before you have been run through the 1700 word filter. This is one of the tasks we are currently working on. The purpose of using a limited vocabulary is again to provide materials that individuals can read for comprehension rather struggling to read and thereby being unable to attach meaning.
