Topic Discussion Guides

Throughout the past few years we’ve explored various themes in Partners in Hope recovery groups. We’ve developed a number of discussion guides to help individuals consider God’s word at various points in their life.

We believe God has called us to live fully and freely. That requires us hearing a call from God, taking steps to respond to that invitation and then growing into the vision God has for life for us.

These sheets, both those that look at the 12 Steps from a Christian view and the topical sheets, are working drafts. Take what is useful for you and leave the rest. I am currently writing and organizing, and filling in gaps at the current time. Working with individuals coming off the street with restricted literacy levels has caused me to make 2 choices in writing:
  1. one page limit – more than one page and it’s too daunting for many to even attempt to read
  2. 1700 word vocabulary – only some of the files before you have been run through the 1700 word filter. This is one of the tasks we are currently working on. The purpose of using a limited vocabulary is again to provide materials that individuals can read for comprehension rather struggling to read and thereby being unable to attach meaning.
