Prayer For Seniors By A Senior (My Mom - Rose Zaiger) During The Pandemic

Thursday April 16, 2020
What a wonderful treat we have today.  My mom, Rose Zaiger, tells us what things are like in the long term care facility where she is and then prays for others.  You'll hear her voice and while we can't beam her to you on live video, we do have recent pictures of her right in her chair with her phone in her hand so you'll see her situation just like it is when she is speaking.

Mom will be 98 in a couple of weeks.  I don't think we'll get to celebrate the day with her but her's is a life worth celebrating.  She's blind.  She has limited mobility but her mind is sharp and her heart is right where it needs to be for times such as these.

Pray along with her as she gives thanks, as she prays for other Seniors, for care givers, for those who are discouraged.  Near the end we say Psalm 23 together - with all of the "Thee's" and "Thou's" and it's a treasure to hear this treasure from her heart.

 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
 He leadeth me beside the still waters.
 He restoreth my soul:
 He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
 for his name's sake.

 Yea, though I walk through the valley
 of the shadow of death,
 I will fear no evil:
 For thou art with me;
 Thy rod and thy staff  they comfort me.

 Thou preparest a table  before me
 In the presence of mine enemies:
 Thou anointest my head with oil;
 My cup runneth over.
 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
 all the days of my life:
 And I will dwell  in the house of the Lord forever.
