God wants to show us how to move past self-centered interest, that blocks friendship, to respectful attention to the interests of others that builds strong and mutually beneficial relationships.

We can know God's presence with us right now in whatever circumstances we are facing. God will give us strength to keep their eyes on You and what You promise and what You are doing for them.  Help them to not look too far ahead into an unknown future but to see Your goodness with them in this moment, in this day.

God knows that sooner or later we will all encounter grief and loss that comes from losing someone we love or facing a threat to our own lives. As usual, God is not a last minute God but rather one who prepares in advance and lets us in on everything we need to know so when the challenging times come, we are ready to face them.

The Lord is MY shepherd … that can make our hearts rejoice and put a smile on our face.  God isn’t just caring for a whole bunch of people and we’re somewhere in that herd. There’s something very personal that is alive in us when we affirm that The Lord is MY shepherd.

We all want to have a good life and we want to do good.  We want to see things change for the better in our families, our churches, and our communities. Well, God’s got just the plan we need.

The only place where any of us will be truly happy and contented is when we are living as God has created us to live and doing the things God has prepare in advance for us to do.

God is kind and good, and His love has no limit.  God pays attention to us when we are in trouble and He promises to rescue us. The great faith that we need to develop is to trust that “when the time is right” God’s help will be there for us.

When we are being taught something new, we often feel overwhelmed by the process we must follow. We may shy away from learning about something by telling ourselves or others, “I can’t” or, “This or that is impossible for me.” We need to remind ourselves that with time and determined effort we can succeed, as many before us have. 

Saint Patrick was surely a man of action, not just words.  He knew how to put into practice the little slogan we hear so often, “Don’t just talk the talk but walk the walk.” We too are each given gifts by God to be used to make a positive difference in the lives of people who are in need today.  God promises us His Spirit as He puts His agenda before us today.

Safe AND joyful? Not a bad one-two way of living I'd say. We are encouraged to believe this is possible for us with some familiar words.

There’s nothing more satisfying than finishing a job and having someone say, “What a good job!”  Regardless of the area, whether in the trades or the arts, when someone performs well it brings joy to more than just themselves. As we walk with God and follow His will for our lives, He promises to give us everything we need so this experience of doing a good job can be ours.
