PRAYER TO LIVE IN BLESSING

We face all sorts of challenges in our days and I thought today it would be good to face them by reminding ourselves of God’s presence and blessing. 

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.  2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Thank You God for knowing that each day we need encouragement and good hope.  We pray to receive the encouragement You are giving and to walk strong, being active in good deeds and words. Thank You that the well of Your encouragement never runs dry.  We can tap into Your grace that makes us strong, particularly when we feel weak.  Your power is made perfect in our weakness.  Amen

May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13

As these verses have reminded us, we want to walk blameless and holy in Your presence today.  In order for us to truly love one another today we know we need You to increase the flow or Your love both to us and through us.  Fill us to overflowing with Your generous love and help us to live in that overflow as we interact with others.  Strengthen our hearts to make the choice to love as we ought, not as we feel, in any given moment.  Your love makes us sufficiently strong.

Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.  Philippians 4:11-13

Oh God, Help us love the life we live right now. Show us the good things we often overlook and help us be content with what we have. You’ve told us that we can do all things in the strength that You give us and that as we remember that, we experience the secret behind successful and satisfying living today.  Thank You for loving us right where we are, right as we are. Help us keep our eyes on You. Amen
