Help When I Need It

When I get up in the morning I usually do a bit of tidying up or emptying the dishwasher etc., make myself a cup of coffee, grab my iPad then sit with God for a while. 

I’m so grateful for this season of my life where I have time to just take my time doing this each day without a lot of distractions. 

I remember early mornings when I was a teacher having to get up in the dark and get out the door to school and just wishing I didn’t have to “rush through” whatever I was reading.

Here are some wonderful words I read today:

I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.  Psalm 34:4-7

I’m so grateful that God hears me when I’m in trouble because He’s close to me.  It’s soon summer camping time and we know that people aren’t far from one another when they “encamp” are they? 

Well, God is close to all of us and I’m grateful that’s my reality. God hears us when we call out to Him AND He gets the job done.  He delivers us.

Thank you Heavenly Father for being close, for listening to us, and for responding with just the help we need.  Help us to trust that You know what needs doing, and when, and how.  Help us to be humble and take the time to bring the specifics of our lives to You, and allow You, the knowledgeable one, to do what’s good and right. Amen

God is ready to do wonderful things as He transforms us more and more to be like Jesus.  The process goes so much better when we intentionally invite Him and welcome Him to help us in places where we have needs and face troubles.  Let’s call on Him many times today.
