Money Issues
Money – how much cash do you have in your wallet or your bank account? Do you feel like it is enough?
How much more money do we all need these days when we go to the grocery store or the gas station? I spent $50 the other day on groceries and there were not all that many items in my bag.
We all pay attention to our Prime Minister these days as he seeks to get our country on in a firmer economic place with all the pressures that certain governments put on us these months.
Every few months the governor of the Bank of Canada announces what’s going to happen to the interest rate for the next quarter and that affects everything from mortgages to what we spend on things we need to purchase.
I doubt there are many of us who wouldn’t think that just a little more money would make things a little better for us.
The truth is, money doesn’t only not solve problems, it often makes more. In fact, the Bible clearly teaches us that the love of money is the root of all evil we know.
For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10
Now that’s not to say that money doesn’t have its place and I’m right there with everyone else wanting to have what I need – and too often a lot of what I want as well. However, the foundation of what makes today good is this:
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
God is more than trustworthy to meet all our needs. His supply goes way beyond what we need and when we open our hearts to His grace, what He pours in is exactly what the situation calls for – even if we didn’t know it before He supplied it in His way.
So Heavenly Father, we are grateful that we can live without the burdens of stress and worry when it comes to money because you promise to give us what we need.
Thank You for all Your provision every day of our lives that has brought us to this day. We are grateful. We choose to acknowledge once again today that our source of all that is good going forward is You. Amen
Let’s keep money in proper perspective today as we enjoy this day.
