Eternity And The Human Heart (3)

He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT)
When we plant bulbs and seeds we cannot see the actual specimen that they will become. However, our expectation is that what we sow, we will reap. If we plant tulip bulbs we will not grow roses. If we plant wheat seeds we will not grow carrots. Timing also has to be right. We need to plant tulips in the fall and wheat in the spring. Also the soil needs to be the right mix to produce a good harvest of whatever we want to grow.
God planted eternity in our hearts and also gave us knowledge of the right time to accept His plan of redemption. When we choose to receive all that He is offering, He then tills the soil of our hearts so that we can produce a fruitful harvest.
For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. And..…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; (2 Corinthians 6:1-2 NLT, Galatians 5:22-23 NASB)
When we begin with God we are like the bulb or seed that is planted, we do not see the scope of God’s work in us from beginning to end. God does! Just like he created the tulip bulb to grow into a beautiful flower or the dry seed to grow into wheat, when we submit to His ways He will grow us into the person He created us to be. God promises that He is the one who will help us stand firm in Christ Jesus. He also promises His Holy Spirit to comfort, guide and direct us as we follow the principles and rules set out in the Bible. He sees what we will become, beautiful in His time.
Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. (2 Corinthians 1:21:22 NIV)
Eternity is in your heart because God put it there when He created you. He will make you beautiful within and without when you accept His plan of redemption through Jesus Christ. He will send His Holy Spirit to come live within your heart and change you into the person He created you to be. When the old heaven and earth has passed away He will take you to the new heaven and earth prepared in advance for you. What a day of rejoicing that will be! ©2013 Partners in Hope
