WHERE IN THE WORLD DO I BELONG? (2)

How do you feel when people who should recognize you do not do so?  This is how Jesus was treated when He came to earth from the heaven.

He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.  (John 1:10-12 NLT)

Sir Christopher Wren was the architect of St. Paul’s Cathedral and many other buildings in London, England.    What if he had planned a visit to the cathedral or some other building in London and the people there did not recognize him?  What if he visited with the people who actually knew he was the architect and they still rejected him? It almost seems unthinkable that people of Christopher Wren’s time would not have recognized him.  He designed some of the most beautiful buildings in London and was given much prestige for doing so.  Jesus, who was both the architect and creator of this world, came into it, and those who should have recognized Him didn’t, and, in fact, they rejected him.

He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.  We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.  He was despised, and we did not care. (Isaiah 53:3 NLT)

If you are feeling lonely and you don’t seem to belong why not consider asking the Lord Jesus to be your Saviour and Lord?  He knows how you are feeling and He cares for you.  Jesus was despised and rejected in this world so that you could be accepted.  He was acquainted with deepest grief so that He could have compassion on you.  If you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you.  He will be your Abba Father and you will be His precious child.  You will belong to Him.

God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”  So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.  What can mere mortals do to me?”  (Hebrews 13:5b-6 NIV)
