Focusing On God's Plan
Monday July 28, 2014

Even if we feel lost and alone, God knows exactly where we are and He has good plans for our lives. God’s plans are bigger than our mistakes. God’s plans are bigger and better than we could ever dream up for ourselves
Starting from scratch, God made the entire human race and made the earth hospitable, with plenty of time and space for living so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find him. He doesn’t play hide-and-seek with us. He’s not remote; he’s near. We live and move in him, can’t get away from him! One of your poets said it well: ‘We’re the God-created.’ (Acts 17:24-28 MSG)

If we want something to work well, it’s often helpful to go back to the beginning, or as some people say, “build from the bottom up.” We started in the heart and mind of God. That’s a good place to begin to build or rebuild a vision for our future.
God made us. God set us in time and space according to a specific plan. God put in our hearts to want His will because only by following the good plan that God has can we be safe and at peace. Our vision is limited. Our strength is weak. However, God has everything we need to shape a life of meaning, purpose, and joy. God is willing to pour good things into our lives if we will simply turn our vision towards Him.
Too often we focus on our problems rather than God’s plan. God desires to give us light for our journey and is ready to flood our path with light but we continue to grope around in the dark because we’re not willing to plug into the source of His power.

Today, as Step 11 in AA encourages us, let’s seek “through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry it out.”
