The Day Of Trouble

Thursday July 17, 2014

Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me (Psalm 50:15 NASB)

Today if anyone is in a day of trouble and their life is a mess it is time to call on God and seek His help.  Each of us needs to come before God and admit that we cannot do life alone.  We need to be restored to peace and sanity.  However, we need to ask ourselves are we willing to turn our will and our life over to the care of God as we understand him.

In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help.  From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.  (Psalm 18:6 NIV)

When we were little children we were fully dependent on our parents for survival.  We could do nothing for ourselves.  This is how God wants you and me to come to Him in our day of trouble, just as a little child.  When we start to depend on God for our survival we will see Him move in mysterious ways to perform all that He has promised.  Our faith is precious to God and His protection is revealed to us through faith.

For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.  He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings.   His faithful promises are your armor and protection.  (Psalm 91:3-4 NLT)

It may take some time for our day of trouble to end. However, we can have faith that God knows how to rescue those who trust in Him from every evil. For a while we may suffer all kinds of trials as our old nature is changed and our minds and actions are transformed by Godly thinking.  As we make progress one day at a time we can be confident of this, God will complete that which He has begun in us.

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.  (Philippians 1:6 NLT)

Why not let a day that started as a day of trouble end with the beginning of a new life in Jesus Christ?
