It's All In The Timing

There's a beautiful simple song that says, "In His time, in His time, He makes all things beautiful in His time .... Lord please show me every day as you're teaching me your way that you do just what you say in Your time."

God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.  (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT)

We are often impatient and want our problems sorted out, or our difficulties removed immediately, thank you very much. It’s hard to struggle along feeling things are not in place which will allow us to live the life God wants for us.  We want our emotions soothed and our thinking to change. That’s our desire and priority. But God’s priority is for us to learn how to walk with Him and see beauty in our lives no matter what is going on in us, or around us.  God wants us to turn our gaze away from things around us to watching Him and seeing what He is actually doing.

Sometimes we miss the lovely things God is doing because God's actions and solutions are different from what we expected.  We have our perspective and our plan and unless God does things in our time and in our way we think things are amiss. One of the best prayers we can pray is to simply ask God to show us what He's doing and help us to get aligned with that.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.  (Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT)

Want to live a beautiful life today?  Spend time with God.  Read stories in the Bible of God’s faithful care for His people.  Tell God your situation.  Remind yourself that God cares and has a solution for your circumstances.  Make a choice to rely on God’s unfailing love for you.  Remember “He makes all things beautiful in His time.”
