Optimism Fueled By Hope
Wednesday May 6, 2015

In our meditations these days we are exploring three things that are foundational if we hope to have a positive and optimistic outlook on life. Yesterday we spoke about faith that is settled in the knowledge that God exists and that God is for us. Hope will flow from our faith at this point.
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NLT)

We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. (Psalm 33:20 NLT)
You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth. (Psalm 65:5 NLT)
When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. (Psalm 94:19 NLT)
Hope in the Lord; for with the Lord there is unfailing love. His redemption overflows. (Psalm 130:7 NLT)
So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands. (Psalm 78:7 NLT)
We are filled with optimism as we listen to others in recovery meetings who have shared their experience of strength and hope. Our lives can be strengthened further as we learn from previous generations who dared to hope in God. The Bible is a great place to “have a meeting” with others who have gone before us and learn from their journey so we can walk with optimism fueled by hope today.
