Benefits Of Giving Thanks

We give thanks to you, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who always was, for now you have assumed your great power and have begun to reign. (Revelation 11:17 NLT)
What difference does it make if we give God thanks or not? It makes a difference because, when we have a grateful attitude towards God, He will supply everything we need to have an enjoyable day. Thankful people overflow with joy and are friendly towards others. Others tend to be drawn towards friendly people. Our circle of acquaintances and friends will grow as we radiate a joyful presence in their midst. When we give thanks, we have a more positive outlook and we become people who are more confident. Good things happen to people who are thankful and have expectation of more good things to happen.
But I will give repeated thanks to the Lord, praising him to everyone. (Psalm 109:30 NLT)
When we give thanks we remember that God is working on our behalf, for our good, and His glory. Our faith and trust will grow as we accept this assurance and begin to live for the good of our family and our community instead of for our own self-interest. As part of God's family and part of our community we will experience fellowship with one another and the blessing of God will overflow in our lives. In giving thanks we encourage ourselves and those around us and consequently the direction of our lives will change.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT)
Today, in the middle of the circumstances we are in right now, let’s receive the peace and joy that God is offering us, and give thanks that He will never leave or forsake us.
