God’s Recycling Business
Friday September 30, 2016

Recycling seems to be the way to achieve new life for things that are used, worn out or just not wanted any more. Each community has a list of items that are required to be recycled. These include: Glass containers, paper products, plastic, cans and aluminum, newspapers, cardboard etc. The Good News about recycling is that it reduces the garbage landfill. Also recycled objects are put through processes and re-formed into products which are different from their original usage. For instance:

Some of the plastic water bottles and plastic food containers are made into laundry detergent containers. Recycled plastic milk jugs are made into cute super-sized plastic toys. Anything from masking tape, skateboards to countertops are made out of recycled paper. One company makes clothes out of coffee grounds. Now that’s amazing!!
God is also in the recycling business. He makes new creations out of seemingly worthless broken down vessels. Here is the Good News about God’s recycling, when we accept His son Jesus as our Saviour, we are born again and are brand new creations. The Bible says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)

People who believe in Jesus are rescued from being people who walk in the Kingdom of Darkness to people who walk in the Kingdom of Light. However, just like recycled objects, there is a process that must take place in order that they may be useful for God’s service. A work of God needs to be done and Jesus tells us where we start: Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.” (John 6:29 NLT)

Recycled objects are processed to be useful for a new function. God wants us to be useful in the plan that He created us for. Today, let’s allow God to begin the work of transformation in us that will enable us to become vessels useful in His service.
If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. (2 Timothy 2:21 NLT)
