Facing Problems With Confidence (3)

Wednesday December 9, 2015

When we were in the slimy pit of our addiction God pursued us with His love and brought us out of darkness into His wonderful light.  He has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us.  No matter how many troubles or trials we have, or may encounter, we can be certain that together with God any difficulty can be worked out and overcome.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.  (Isaiah 41:10 NIV)

God is never in a hurry. He never quits or runs out of patience. He will help us deal with our problems, one issue at a time until each issue is resolved, and then He will let us rest for a while—but not for too long.  Soon He will begin to work on something else. God continues the untangling process of the mess in our lives until, one by one, all of our knots are unraveled.  When it seems that progress is not being made, it's because the Lord is very patiently helping us undo the complicated knots that may have lacked our attention for some time.  Sometimes, in our own haste to get things done, we may focus on a knot that has not been untied rather than rejoicing in all the others that have been disentangled.  It may be tough, and it may take time, but if we commit ourselves to the process of healing in our lives, sooner or later we will experience the victory we have desired for so long.  The important thing to remember is, no matter how long it takes, never give up.  God is at work in our difficulties even when we may not be conscious of it.

So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.  (Philippians 2:12-13 NASB)

We managed to get ourselves into a mess over a period of time, now with God’s help let’s work patiently with Him to sort out the mess.  Remember, that with God all things are possible.

Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 1:6 NIV)
