Welcome to Partners in Hope. People often ask "Who is Partners in Hope?"  There's no ONE answer.  It's prison outreach, the food co-op, affordable housing listings, 12-step meetings, residences for women and men and just plain fun.  Take a few minutes to explore the many expressions of hope our partners provide.  Borrow any ideas and programs you see here for your community.  Contact us if you need help doing in your area something you see us doing here.

Partners In Hope
"Offering hope, support and healing, helping people out of harmful circumstances, and walking them through the process of building productive lives."

November 2009

Our dear friend and co-worker, Lorna McLachlan, died on October 22 after a long battle with cancer.  Some of you were not able to attend the "Celebration of Life" we held for Lorna on October 29 and so we are linking some resources from that celebration.  Click on each of the items to see it.  Slides from Lorna's life    Video of Lorna inviting other to life with Jesus    Tribute from Ric Simpson     Tribute by Elsie Quick and Earl Bennett (Lorna's brother)    A copy of the service leaflet

The leaves are falling. We've changed the clocks back so it's dark at suppertime.  That signals to me that winter is on the way.  The city initiates the "Out of the Cold" shelter program this month as well  because the cool nights have come. For people with struggles in life these are challenging times to stay warm, have food, find dry clothing ... just dry shoes and socks are an issue let alone trying to keep a blanket or a sleeping bag dry if you are sleeping outside.   Our desire in Partners in Hope is to support each other in practical ways during all of the seasons of life so we do the challenges and the changes well.

We've loaded this website with lots of  helpful information for you as you take steps towards making important changes in your life. Browse around the site and anywhere you see a brown coloured link that interests you, click on it and you're likely to find some helpful information or an encouraging story. This Weeks Worksheet - Thursday Meeting

Week 40:  Life In Recovery - Family of God

As individuals new to recovery and new to faith, there are many ways to support our growth in both of those areas.  We are encouraged through Jesus’ example to talk to other Christians – to have fellowship.  Throughout the Bible and down through the centuries, Christians have found it essential to meet together regularly.  We need teaching and direction from those who have experience and wisdom.  We need prayer and sharing of our lives and God’s plan is for us to be connected together in groups called “the church.”

We discuss how we can enter into life with individuals from many paths that gather in church in a satisfying and supportive way on October 1 at 7:30 at Mission Possible, 543 Powell Street, Vancouver, BC
