Prayer for Peace During Covid-19 Outbreak

We are living in unprecedented times, at least in our generation, but they are no surprise to God. God goes ahead of us and prepares what we need in each set of challenging circumstances we face.
Loving God, you hold the past, present, and future together and You know every day of our lives long before we live them. Today's circumstances are no surprise to You.
Thank You for being with us today when it seems like chaos and out of control things are more the order of the day. You promise that You will never leave us and that You will make us strong. We need that today.
Help us to look above the endless announcements of "Breaking News" to see Your help and comfort for all of us. You never said we wouldn't face trouble but You promised to be with us and that Your Spirit in us was greater than anything around us. Help us to be conscioius of You today. Give us ears to hear the instructions You have for us - through Your Word, through the leaders in government and health care who are working hard on our behalf, through one another as we offer our experience, strength, and hope to each other.
You promise us peace that goes beyond our understanding and in faith we receive that peace today. We think answers and control are the source of our peace but You tell us that You are our peace and so we come to You today to receive peace for our minds and our hearts.
We bless ourselves, our loved ones, our leaders, the at-risk folks in our communities, and those who are grieving. Surround us with Your comfort and compassion today. We rely on You. You will not let us down. Amen
