Trustworthy

Trustworthy – lovely sounding word in a world and time where we’re not sure who or what to trust.  With things like AI generating all kinds of false information and politicians regularly saying things that are more false spin than anything representing reality, where can we find something that’s reliable, that’s honest, that’s truthful?

Thank God for His Word that has stood the test of time.

The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Psalm 19:7

Not only are all the things God says trustworthy and useful for making us wise but they refresh us.  And underneath all God’s words are His character.

All he does is just and good,  and all his commandments are trustworthy. Psalm 111:7

Heavenly Father, we live in such insecure times an our hearts long for trustworthy people and truth we can rely on.  Thank You for preparing in advance for this day for us and for the wonderful gift of Your Word that teaches us and promises us trustworthy truths.

And of course what is so wonderful is that this place of trustworthy truth and stability is not something that is here today and gone tomorrow because You remind us in Your Word that:

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does. Psalm 145:13

Your truth will last forever and You, our amazing God who always keeps his promises, will always be gracious in how You act towards us. 

Help us to respond with trust and with only speaking truthful, reliable, and gracious words ourselves to others today. Amen

Trustworthy – I feel like I can just take a deep breath of the fresh air of truth and enter into peace in God’s presence.  Let’s remind ourselves to do that often today.
