Recognizing Those Who Value Us

Sunday November 1, 2026

How do we know that we matter to someone?  They don’t just tell us we matter – because we all know that words are pretty cheap – but they demonstrate that value in how they respond to us and act on our behalf.

I often feel that complex kind of sadness these days as I listen to the news – particularly those reporting about economic circumstances, one generations financial interests in competition with another; changing bank rates to curb inflation and slow the economy which, quite frankly, always mean that some people have to lose their jobs – tough times ahead for them and their loved one.

There is a whole group of people that seem “expendable,” whose pain has to be ignored in order for others to do well.

Thankfully, we have a God who loves us and cares for us and values us more than we can even imagine.

How do we know God values us? Because He pays attention to us and He acts with faithful love on our behalf.

Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands. Deuteronomy 7:9

And it’s more than just understanding some truth out there about what God is like. There’s something very personal we are to know and receive today about how God values us.

Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols. O Lord my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them. Psalm 40:4-5

Thank You God that you love us always and You love us without condition.

Our lives are filled with great beauty and infinite value by You.  You have plans for each of our lives that are meaningful, purposeful, and which will bring us great joy.

Thank You for the good work that You have for each of us to do today that will bless others and give us deep satisfaction.

And thank You that no matter what we face, You are  always with us.  We don’t need to face any problem alone.  Together with You, the creator of the universe and our loving Heavenly Father, any difficulty can be worked out and overcome.  Amen

Let’s live in the joy of God’s valuing of us today by showing up for us and sticking with us through whatever we have to face. And while we’re at it, let’s pass that along.
