We live in difficult days.  Jesus knows what we need.  His prayer for us is that we too would seek and find wise counsel today, to help us find His way of life and peace.  Jesus is always present with us in the person of the Holy Spirit and He is the best counselor that anyone could employ. Often, when we are experiencing difficulties, the one thing we long to have is someone who can hear us and care about what is happening to us.  God not only comes alongside us to do that, He also has the power to arrange things, and fix things, and even miraculously change things, so all the good that God plans for us, His loving children, can be what we experience from day to day.

We are often conditioned by our past in such a way that when we experience something, our minds naturally predict a likely outcome or what will be.  Without hardly thinking, we begin to act as though we believe those thoughts to be true.   God has come to live in us, by His Holy Spirit, to show us where our internal predictions are actually limited or false.  God wants to counsel us to recognize and choose new paths that can lead us to something so much more rewarding than we can imagine, even though it's unfamiliar today.

Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32 NIV)

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. (1 Corinthians 2:9-10 NLT)

As we encounter whatever life brings before us, and seek God for guidance, we will find that the Holy Spirit, the Counselor, will lead and guide us into all truth -- what God knows is actually possible, and indeed, His loving plan for our lives that gives us a future with hope.  We will no longer be bound by our past, but we will be able to enter into bright futures given to us by our Loving Heavenly Father.
