February 3, 2014 Where In The World Do I Belong? (1)
Monday February 3, 2014

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:3-6 NKJV)

How many of us feel like we truly belong? Do you feel like you belong in your family? Do you feel like you belong in the company of your friends? Do you feel like you belong when you’re in the company of your work mates or neighbours? On a scale of -10 to +10 where would you place yourself in each of these relationships? If you are close to -10 you are probably feeling uncared for and lonely. Mother Teresa said “Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat . . . We must find each other.”

When we begin to know the goodness of God’s grace, then we want to tell others about His unfailing love and kindness towards us. We want them to be accepted in the Beloved so that, like us, they will know where they belong.

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. (Psalm 143:8 NIV)
Why not restore your relationship with God today and let Him be your Everlasting Father? You can entrust your life to Him for He is a faithful Father to those who are, or feel they are, fatherless. If you make this choice you will know where you truly belong.
