Meditations on "Relationship"

It’s time to give up the tunnel vision of first looking to our own interests and, only when it is convenient, looking to the interests of others. Most important, it is time to give our energy and attention to God’s interests, because we will then experience the blessing of right relationship with Him and with others.

God’s plan has always been that we share our lives with one another.

We are created to serve God and bring joy and blessing to others. God promises to help us. Are you and I willing to step forward confident in who God says we are? Are we willing to follow His ways and the plan He has for each of us?

As we live in His will, we discover that whatever the cause of our anxiety, God is available to help us face any issues head on and overcome the challenges they may bring.

True friends watch out for each other, share with each other, and even make sacrifices for each other.

God’s unfailing love throughout our recovery is powerful enough to sustain us and help us overcome evil.

Today is a day to honour Fathers. Some of us are Fathers. All of us have a Father. The relationship of a loving Father to his child is a picture of God's heart for us.

As we spend time with God each day and practice His teachings, He gives us a discerning heart to know His ways.

Only God is patient enough to love us and walk with us through all the twists and turns on the journey we need to take to develop patience.

Everyday life in recovery will bring challenges where we need God’s guidance to live wisely.

As we come out of the isolation of addiction and move into the life God created us to live it’s good to ask ourselves, “How am I being a friend?”

When we come to God in recovery, we must humbly acknowledge that we do not know how to live well in relationship with others.
