March 21, 2014 Integrity (2)
Friday March 21, 2014

I will sing of your love and justice; to you, Lord, I will sing praise. I will be careful to lead a blameless life—when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart. I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it. (Psalm 101:1-3 NIV)

What does it mean to be a person of integrity? Here are a few ways that people have tried to describe it.
- Being true to yourself and others.
- Knowing and doing what is right.
- Doing right even when one is alone.
- Conducting one’s affairs with honesty even when it would be beneficial to be dishonest.
God has established rules and regulations in His word that we can follow. He tells us that to love Him with all passion and intelligence and energy, and also to love our neighbour as well as we love ourselves is better than all the work we can do for Him or the offerings we can make to Him. When we follow the path that God has laid out for us we will certainly be people of integrity and others will feel safe in our company.

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. (2 Corinthians 1:20-22 NIV)
