Living in Loneliness or Living in Love (1)

We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.  (Hebrews 4:15-16 MSG)

Loneliness is a feeling of isolation. We can be in a room full of people and still feel lonely.  God made us for relationship and when relationships are not as God intended we will experience loneliness.

Loneliness is a feeling that others may not even be aware that we exist.  People see us but have their own agenda.  They continue to carry on with what they are doing having no idea, or even caring about, what we are thinking or what we are coping with on the inside.  Other symptoms of loneliness are feelings of lack of involvement with others or with what is happening around us. Loneliness and loss of hope are often triggered by rejection, separation, a sense of abandonment by God and/or others, tragedy, or not being understood.  Mother Teresa said “Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty”.

God told them, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will.   Expect love, love, and more love! (Jeremiah 31:3 MSG)

Following are the words of a song that tell us that our Heavenly Father is our maker and that He will hear us when we call to Him.  We are never forgotten.

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call

We are never alone, God is always with us.  Today if you are feeling lonely, ask God to reveal His love for you.  You can trust God.  He understands you. and He promises He will never leave you or forsake you.
