March 5, 2014 Accusation And Condemnation (3)
Wednesday March 5, 2014

What area within you is just too painful to touch? Are you avoiding dealing with the pain because the evil one is telling you that you are a real mess and it would not be wise to uncover hidden things at this time? Jesus said the truth will set you free so who will you believe? If you have done something wrong, acknowledge your failure before God and be reassured that you are forgiven and cleansed from all unrighteousness. Be on guard against your thoughts that accuse or condemn others. As soon as you hear them, do a self-check and find out what’s not going well in your own heart. Where might you not have lived up to fulfilling the good desires of your heart? As soon as you start to see negative traits in others, pray for them, and bless them. Leave their negativity with them rather than letting their problem become your problem. Remember that you are accountable to God for your life. He is the Judge over all things and has promised that the righteous will never be forsaken.

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! (Isaiah 26:3 NLT)
How do we defeat the discouragement of accusation and condemnation? Jesus knows the way and lived it. Having gone through scornful words said about Him, cruel whippings with soldiers spitting on His face, and subsequently being nailed to the cross Jesus said, “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing”. (Luke 23:34 NIV) This statement prayed by Jesus is true, even when people say and do things with malice in their hearts, they are not fully aware of the impact it may have on those on the receiving end of their actions. Jesus told us to love our enemies. Let them bring out the best in us, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with prayer, for then you will be working out of your true self, your God-created and renewed self.

“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” (Luke 6:27-28 NIV)
There is nothing of God in accusation and condemnation so any words said to us, or thought in our minds, are simply words we need to send away and not receive. God can be trusted to speak the truth to us in love, and He cares enough about us to challenge us to do the same.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1 NKJV)
Today, let’s desire to be more like Jesus and God will give us the desire of our hearts.
