Audio for RECYCLING
Recycling seems to be the way to achieve new life for things that are used, worn out or just not wanted any more. Each community has a list of items that are required to be recycled. These include,
· Paper cups
· Milk cartons
· Tetra Paks ®
· Aerosal cans
· Ice cream tubs
· Spiral wound paper and metal cans
· Plastic jugs and containers
· Glass jars and bottles
· Cans
· Newspapers
· Flyers
· Phone books
· Flattened boxes
· Egg cartons
· Envelopes and scrap paper
The Good News about recycling is that it reduces the garbage landfill. Also recycled objects are put through processes and re-formed into products which are different from their original usage. For instance:
Some of the plastic water bottles and plastic food containers are made into laundry detergent containers. Recycled plastic milk jugs are made into cute super-sized plastic toys.
Anything from masking tape, skateboards to countertops are made out of recycled paper.
Many pieces in Moving Comfort’s active-wear line incorporate a fabric called S. Cafe, which uses a patented process to remove the phenol, ester and oil from coffee grounds and turn them into yarn. Isn’t that amazing? That yarn is incorporated into a fabric that, thanks to the coffee, is naturally odor repellant, protects from UV rays, and dries quickly. Now that is really amazing!
Do you realize that God is in the recycling business? He makes new creations out of old creations. Here is the Good News about God’s recycling, when we accept His son Jesus as our Saviour, we are born again and are brand new creations. The Bible says,
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)
People who believe in Jesus are rescued from being people who walk in the Kingdom of Darkness to people who walk in the Kingdom of Light. However, just like recycled objects, there is a process that must take place in order that they may be useful for God’s service. A work of God needs to be done and Jesus tells us where we start:
Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.” He (God) has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son. (John 6:29; Colossians 1:12b-13 NLT)
Recycled objects are processed and changed to be useful for another function. God wants us to be useful in the plan that He created us for. Today, let’s allow God to begin the work of transformation in us that will enable us to become vessels useful in His service.
If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. (2 Timothy 2:21 NLT)
