A Beautiful Life

How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.  (Psalm 84:1, 4-7, 11 NIV)

A truly beautiful life is found wherever God resides.  True blessing and joy come to us when we choose to live in God's presence.  The security, peace, and love that God offers are greater than anything we could receive from other sources.  We often try other things to give us pleasure and satisfaction but we soon realize that they fall short of what we are longing for.   As we entrust our life to God and do our best to follow God's will for us, we will discover the blessings of living in the presence of our righteous and loving God.

For many people, when troubles pile up and difficulties seem overwhelming they assume that God has left the scene.  In reality, the opposite is true.  God's nature is to come close to those who need help and need a safe place during the storms of life.  We often reject the help that God offers by telling ourselves that God has forgotten about us.  This is a lie from the evil one for God tells us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us.  If we come to Him God will show us a new way forward that has no hidden long term harm.

God alone knows all of our lives, past, present, and future. God always acts with love towards us and will support those choices we make which lead to more freedom for us as we come to know the truth of His word. Our part is to welcome God's blessing in God's way into our lives and trust His desire and ability to make everything beautiful in His time.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.  (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV)
