Unforced Rhythms Of Grace
Wednesday June 17, 2015

God says: Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly. (Matthew 11:28 MSG)

Do I want a life of intimacy with God in recovery? What would need to change in how I've been acting? God is well aware that we cannot fix ourselves. Life is a gift. Healing is a gift. Recovery is something we can’t take credit for but certainly is something that we can receive and treasure. Perhaps we need to consider if we dare open our hearts and lives to God so He can help us live the life we were created to experience and enjoy.
Don't grieve God. Don't break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don't take such a gift for granted. (Ephesians 4:30 MSG)

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. (1 Peter 1:18-19 NIV)

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT)
Jesus came into the world to redeem us from the power of sin so that we could live lives that are meaningful and purposeful and joyful. Jesus said: “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. (John 10:10 NLT)
God sent His son to rescue us from the disaster and chaos of life. When we receive Jesus as our redeemer and friend, we then enter into the gracious life that God planned and created us for.
