Conscious Contact With God (1)

Monday September 28, 2015

I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.  And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.  God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. We love because he first loved us. (Song of Solomon 6:3, 1 John 4:16, 19 NIV)

Young lovers live to share all of who they are and what they experience with the one they love.   They talk endlessly about memories and experiences they have shared which enrich the life they now enjoy together.  They share hopes and dreams.  They get to know the likes and dislikes of each other.  They are infatuated with each other and can’t wait to spend time together.

God loves us and invites us to a loving life-long relationship with Him.   He enjoys us and cares about what is going on in our lives. He seeks to support us in every struggle.  God is interested in our hopes and dreams and longs to help us achieve more than we even think is possible.  God loves us and wants us to spend time with Him.  He wants us to partake in His plans and fulfill His purpose for our lives.

As we are seeking to have a loving relationship with God for which we were created, it’s important that we take the time to know and understand God and how He operates in this world.   We need to speak with God in prayer and share our strategies for moving forward with Him.  We need to ask for His strength and guidance in all we are planning to do.  As we seek conscious contact with Him, God has promised that His eyes will be open and His ears attentive to our prayers.  As we walk together with Him, He is faithful to give us hope and encouragement in all we undertake to do.  Are we making ourselves available to God?  Are we living in conscious contact with Him, praying only for knowledge of His will and the power to carry it out?

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer. (I Peter 3:12a NIV)

God is always with us.  God desires to be involved in each moment of our days and to share each of our experiences.  Are we seeking to have conscious contact with this amazing God?  As we live daily in a loving personal relationship with God, we will find that our lives are constantly changing for the better.

I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.  Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. (Revelation 3:19-20 NLT)

Today, let’s be willing to hear His voice and invite Him in.
