Facing Problems With Confidence (5)

Friday December 11, 2015

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. (Jeremiah 29:11-12 NIV)

If we really want to get well, we have to stop using our problems as a means of getting attention, sympathy or pity.    Before we can get well, we must really want to be well—body, soul, and spirit. We must sincerely desire to come to terms with life as we know it.  We need to examine our current belief system and hear and accept the truth about our life situations.  It’s time to stop wasting valuable time feeling sorry for ourselves and wallowing in self-pity.  We now need to choose to stop using our problems as a crutch for our life.  It’s time to allow God to help untangle our knots one at a time while we live each day to the fullest.   Our daily focus must be to fix our eyes on Jesus and get excited about what the Lord has planned for us to do today.

For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!  (Isaiah 64:4 NLT)

If we call on God, He is willing to help us.  He will resolve all our problems, past, present and future together for our good and His glory.  As challenges come our way, we can rely on God to help us face them courageously, calmly and victoriously.   When we turn our will and our life over to God and follow His principles, He will be responsible for all the consequences of our lives.  Our part is to obey His direction even when we don’t fully understand the way He is taking us.  Remember, it is better to travel with someone who knows the way we are going than to rely on ourselves when we do not know the way.  God knows the way through all of life’s problems, all we have to do is follow.

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you.  Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.  Rescue me from my enemies, Lord; I run to you to hide me.  (Psalm 143:8-9 NLT)

Today, let’s choose to trust our faithful God and face our problems with confidence in Him alone.
