Accepted In The Beloved (4)

Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; (Isaiah 49:15-16a NKJV)
Sometimes when problems arise our assurance of God’s care may be forgotten. In the dark days of coping with an event which has a major negative impact on our lives, we may feel alone and vulnerable. Daily life continues regardless of the heartache we are feeling and somehow we have to cope. In the past, we have verbally announced the truth “we never have to face our problems alone”, yet when difficulties arise we try to handle the stress related to the event on our own, only to find that it is a very limited way. We begin to feel like orphans with no one to care for us. We forget how God has helped us in the past and assume He has abandoned us. However, God does not forget His beloved. We just need to call on Him and He will answer us.
The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. (Psalm 91:14-15 NLT)
In difficult times, rather that running from God, we need to draw closer to Him and let His unfailing love ease the pain we are feeling. We are His beloved children and we need to assert the truth that our Heavenly Father will never leave us nor forsake us in any circumstance. His everlasting arms are always under us, holding us until we are able to stand firm with Him again. When problems arise we need to run to our Heavenly Father for comfort. In our time of need, we are assured that He is faithful and will perform all that He has promised.
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29 NLT)
Today, let’s make time to seek God and find rest for our souls.
