Don’t Give Up Perservere

When troubles arise in our lives, sometimes we feel helpless to cope with them. If our normal pattern is hiding from our problems, we need to seriously think about doing something new and look for someone to talk to who is willing to understand us, pray with us, and help us. Troubles can drive us into isolation and even back to our harmful addictions and dependencies. The worst thing we can do is to pretend our problem does not exist. As one song writer suggests, it’s important and helpful to “take it to the Lord in prayer”. God often reveals the answer to us when we take time to listen to what He has to say.
This is God’s Message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as God: ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own. (Jeremiah 33:2-3 MSG)
When we ask God to intervene in our troubling situations we can be assured that He hears and answers us. We need to be truthful when we bring our troubles to Him. Perhaps the situation we are dealing with arose because of something we did or said, perhaps even something we should have done but did not do. Did we lie and find ourselves in trouble because we were unable to tell the truth at the time? Truthfulness will set us free and we can then draw on God’s strength to face the situation. Never give up on taking everything to God in prayer. God is faithful and He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. (Isaiah 43:2-3a NLT)
Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. (Psalm 50:15 NKJV)
