Low self-esteem. No self-worth. This is the experience of many who suffer in addictive lifestyles. We obsess on negative thoughts about ourselves and our ability to do well in life. We make a simple mistake and we feel like we are a complete failure. When others disagree with what we are saying, we are unable to cope. We feel like no matter how hard we try we can’t measure up. What are we left with? A general feeling of hopelessness that God never intended us to have.
So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground." Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! (Genesis 1:27-28, 31 NLT)

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:13-14 NIV)

God’s knowledge of us is evident in the things He has prepared in advance for us to do. God’s promise to bring that purpose to fulfillment is assured when we turn our will and our lives over to His care and live one day at a time in recovery.
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)
Prayer – Heavenly Father, I am awed by Your knowledge of me, and the purpose You have for my life. May I ever be reminded that I am a child of God. AMEN
