HOPE FOR WHAT CONCERNS ME TODAY

Wednesday December 10, 2025

Troubles come, sometimes one on top of another.  Pressure builds.  Sadness deepens.  We ask, “Where is God in the middle of my troubles?”  As we move towards the Christmas celebration of Jesus coming into this world of darkness and the chaos of life on this planet, let’s really celebrate that He came to bring peace and hope to those who put their trust in Him.

This is GOD’s Message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as GOD: ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own. (Jeremiah 33:2-3 MSG)

Jesus longs to comfort and strengthen us in our times of vulnerability.  If we ask for His guidance, He will show us the right way to handle any problem we may encounter.  He may even show us new ways to resolve lingering issues, ways we never even thought about or considered.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me.  The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.  Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands. (Psalm 138:7-8 NKJV)

Those of us who have chosen to give our will and our life over to God’s care now believe that there is a solution to every problem in life because God is with us.  In every situation we do the things we know to be right, then prayerfully wait in God's care and protection until our problems are resolved. God is always with those who believe in the finished work of Jesus. So, we can refuse any hopeless thoughts that say nothing works or nothing will ever change. We can keep looking to God and His amazing power to fulfill His good purposes in everything that concerns us.

Seems like a good plan to carry forward as we begin to close out this year and move into the next.

Prayer: Gracious God, I choose to stand with You and trust You to show me the way forward in every situation that concerns me.  Thank You for Your care and guidance.  Amen
