Meditations on "Surrender"

What we have to say truly matters because God’s wisdom is precious and uplifting to those who are still in bondage to their old way of thinking and unmanageable lifestyle.

God invites us to stop running, acknowledge the pain and brokenness in our past relationships, and deal with the harm that was caused.

When we choose to apply the simple principle, “I can’t. God can. I think I’ll let Him” we’ll experience a new and satisfying life – life with God in recovery.

God broke through with His unfailing love. God never gave up on us even when we refused to obey Him or even acknowledge that He existed.

Learning how to communicate well is an essential part of this new life with God in recovery that we are now living.

When we begin the recovery process we are often overwhelmed by the guilt and shame of the mess we have made of our lives. Being confident in our minds that we can live a positive and joyful life is half the battle.

God knows we are unable to find the way of peace on our own, so He accompanies us and guides us to it.

When we say we are entirely ready to have God remove our defects of character we need to be sure that we are not making room for some to stay.

It’s time to give up the tunnel vision of first looking to our own interests and, only when it is convenient, looking to the interests of others. Most important, it is time to give our energy and attention to God’s interests, because we will then experience the blessing of right relationship with Him and with others.

God is a God of order; He is not a God of confusion. Surrendering our minds to Him brings peace to our whole being.

God has solutions for all the problems we face whether it’s problems brought on by our own actions or the actions of others.

We need God’s help to identify our shortcomings and the infilling of the Holy Spirit to give us the will and the power to remove them.
