Hope For Today "Trust"

God’s instructions, especially when they make no sense to us, truly can still be trusted. 

God has always kept His eye on human activities.  He’s given us free will and allows us to make incorrect choices even though the suffering that results is painful for Him. He's not waiting to condemn but rather to encourage, and to heal and restore us.

There are all sorts of situations that we need to enter that may initially seem threatening. Thankfully, God takes us as we are and helps us get through the unfamiliar, reassuring us all the way along that He will help us in every way we need it.

Whether it is governments or sports teams, businesses or individuals, we all want credit for good things and to blame others when things go wrong. But God turns things upside down. On which ever side of the “fame or blame” pendulum we find ourselves today, let’s trust God’s goodness to be all we need

Do we trust God’s ways for us to be good for us and to actually revive us when we are worn down and vulnerable? Are we willing to have God do things in our lives according to His knowledge, His Word, and with lovingkindness?

Our words and actions are often the direct result of what we think and feel. If we want to speak and act well, we first need to think well.

How many times in a day do we struggle with the impatience?  Things are not happening as quickly as we thought they would.  Someone isn't meeting our needs in the way we thought they should.  We even think God is slow in how and when He responds to our prayers – particularly when we tell Him what we need and expect Him to respond immediately. How to deal with our impatience?

We have all made promises to family members and friends which we didn’t manage to keep.  Fortunately, God has continued to pursue us with His love, without interruption, every day of our lives and here we are today in response to that love. His promise to offer us His love never changes regardless of our wanderings.

During times of great trouble and stress and challenge we need to lift up our lives and our hearts to God, trusting in God's goodness.  To the average onlooker it might seem like we have been abandoned to our troubles and that there’s no hope for us.  But that is NOT the case.

Not only are all the things God says trustworthy and useful for making us wise but they refresh us.  And underneath all God’s words are His character.

As we allow change and transformation into our lives, we can sometimes feel like we’re treading an unknown path.  The surroundings are unfamiliar and we do not feel confident in the direction we are going. Sometimes we long for the security of what was familiar when we were in troubled lifestyles.  We seek the relationships, the neighborhood, or just the known way of doing things.  Now, as we’ve embraced change we wonder: can we truly rely on God to provide for us and to keep us secure?

God pays attention.  God hears us when we call out to Him, even to the point of “inclining his ear” to us to make sure He hears what we are saying, catches every emotion, attends to the cry of our heart. How good is that?
