Hope For Today Videos

When making a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves, many of us are horrified by the things we have done.  Are we willing to ask God to wipe away all the evil things we have done?

Did you know that we are helped in our weakness, given words to our prayers when we don’t even know what to say or ask, and promised that whether we get it right or not, whether things go as they should in our circumstances or not, God will work it all together for good – all of it.

What about this work/life balance; the work that best uses resources of body, mind, and soul; the recreation that is truly restful and restorative.  We all wonder about these things. What are the fundamental principles in determining this for ourselves?

How many of us who begin a job actually see it through to completion? In some areas we do not badly and then there are other areas where we struggle to push through all the way to the end. Only God can get us over the finish line when it really counts.

In every age there have been challenges to our sense of community. These days the great challenge seems to be devices and the isolation that was so increased during long months of pandemic restrictions and seems to have lingered these years later. We need each other.  We were made for each other.  It’s only with others that our daily living and service truly finds completeness. 

We have admitted that sometimes we got into trouble because we had been foolish. The next positive move we can take is to make a decision to turn our will and life over to the care of God.  When we call out to God, even if we are feeling confused by all that is happening, He hears us and helps us get the urgent help we need.

We need to let truth guide us and be careful about opinions we hold and for sure, about opinions we share with others. 

Whether it is governments or sports teams, businesses or individuals, we all want credit for good things and to blame others when things go wrong. But God turns things upside down. On which ever side of the “fame or blame” pendulum we find ourselves today, let’s trust God’s goodness to be all we need

Rebuilding - We all have our part to play but we know that ultimately God is the one who is at the foundation of it all.  Let's rebuild with God today.

Do we trust God’s ways for us to be good for us and to actually revive us when we are worn down and vulnerable? Are we willing to have God do things in our lives according to His knowledge, His Word, and with lovingkindness?

We are spiritual beings who have a soul and live in a body.  God created us to be complete only when we are filled with His life.  We can’t think and choose appropriately unless we have the life of God in us.

Can we make this commitment today? Just for today I will adjust myself to what is and not try to adjust everything else to my desires. I will trust that God is working all things for good in my life.
