Hope For Today Videos

Practicing a lifestyle of gratitude is of great value in experiencing today as good and truly being contented. Since the practice of gratitude is so powerful, how can we make it an intentional part of our daily living? 

We all love the "Prayer of St Francis" - let me be an instrument of your peace. But, the problem is that every line of that prayer gets put into practice in challenging circumstances. It's still worth the ask from God for having what it takes to be an instrument of peace.

We have all made promises to family members and friends which we didn’t manage to keep.  Fortunately, God has continued to pursue us with His love, without interruption, every day of our lives and here we are today in response to that love. His promise to offer us His love never changes regardless of our wanderings.

We experience true freedom when we have a clean slate with God.  When we humbly admit our faults and sins to God, with a sincere desire to be changed, God is faithful to forgive us.

How many of us who have given our will and our life over to the care of God have taken time to acknowledge all that we received by making that decision? At times we may focus more on what we let go of rather than on what we have received. Maybe a shift would do us well.

Many people have never been disciplined in the art of following through on the commitments they make. They start something and then get tired when it takes more effort than they are willing to give. Thankfully, God has operated with us on a very different basis.  He’s given and given and given, regardless of how we’ve been towards Him. 

Just like the hub on a wheel brings together all the spokes and the tire that surrounds them so they work in unity, so God brings all things in our lives together.

None of us were there before creation except God.  He alone knows all the details about how and when this earth came into being. What I do know is this, however it got done, God did it and however it all keeps going, in spite of the difficult things we see happening around us because of fires, and earthquakes, and floods, etc., we know that God is sustaining life on this planet until His good purposes have been fulfilled.

Good news – we all love it. The very best news, and news that has a long term positive effect in our lives is the good news of God’s love for us demonstrated in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We take a look at one of the many unsung heroes in the Bible and then remind ourselves that it's our turn now, to be people who, in very simple, ordinary ways come alongside others, and witness to God's goodness and mercy that is with us every day.

We long for continuity and stability in our uncertain and changing world. Today we can be grateful that we know the God of the beginning and the end who is also holding everything in between. 

Even though we may know about these stages and even be able to identify where we are today, it still remains difficult for us to deal with the grief and loss we are experiencing.  Thank God He is with us through every stage of life and He understands our grief.  He has experienced it all Himself.
