Step 3: We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

As we come into recovery programs we listen to and are supported by the experience, strength, and hope that others share.

Step Two: Came to believe that a power greater that ourselves could restore us to sanity.

There are many forces and circumstances in life that we cannot manage on our own.

Step One: We admitted that we were powerless over our dependencies, that our life had become unmanageable.

Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me.

He (God) gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

He (God) sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have.

In our state of powerlessness over our addictions we wonder if God could possibly value us as a person and be willing to give us a chance at life.

Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them.

It's Election Day in Canada on Monday, October 19. We've had the longest campaign in many decades, heard lots of sound clips and watched debates, political ads, and panels as they discussed the platforms of the various parties and the statements of the leaders.

We give thanks to you, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who always was, for now you have assumed your great power and have begun to reign.
