Meditations on "Forgiveness"

In sobriety, we begin to be aware of how much spiritual poison we have allowed to build up in our hearts and minds. The most toxic spiritual poison we have fed ourselves is the belief that we know how to live life on our own without God.

God will reveal to us the underlying root cause of our anger if we ask Him.

The first step in rooting out shame is to receive God’s forgiveness for any ways we have sinned against God and others.

Whether a breakdown happened an hour ago or a decade ago, God is with us to help us work for reconciliation.

We have a Power greater than ourselves working in us to help us avoid making the mistakes our old nature is demanding.

We can dare to forgive others because we know we’ve been forgiven and accepted by God.

Where we have done wrong, we promptly admit it and allow God to show mercy to us and grant us His forgiveness.

Jesus taught that we are to ask God to forgive our wrongs as we forgive those who have wronged us.

For most of us, when difficulties surface, and we can easily become discouraged and intimidated by not finding quick solutions to our problems. Then, overwhelming feelings of wanting to run set in. The biggest obstacle to staying on course is, looking for solutions to our problems without seeing God’s help in the resolution of them.

We experience true freedom when we have a clean slate before God.

It is difficult for us to believe and admit that our familiar defective way of handling challenging situations is not superior to God’s way.

The all-powerful God who created us and the amazing world in which we live, loves and cares about each one of us. If He is sought, He promises to help us.
