Meditations on "Gratitude"

God has help for us as we take an inventory of the words that come out of our hearts and are expressed in these ways. In Proverbs, a book of wisdom, we are given several comparisons of good and bad words. This should help us sort out what words to keep and what words to learn to eliminate.

We serve others as an expression of our love and gratitude to God. When our hearts are uplifted by God’s goodness, we seek to bless others as we have been blessed. The focus of our service is simply our loving response to God’s work in our lives.

God broke through with His unfailing love. God never gave up on us even when we refused to obey Him or even acknowledge that He existed.

A noteworthy part of living with God in recovery is the restoring of our understanding of our true value which has been firmly established by the God who created us.

There is no time in our life when we don't need correcting because circumstances keep changing and we have limited understanding and often get used to bad habits. There’s always more we need to learn about some issues and then be willing to receive correction when we are in error.

Demonstrating to others that we care about them is encouragement to them whether the problem is resolved or not. If God had not come alongside us when we were struggling and encouraged us to try again, where would we be today?

Whether a breakdown happened an hour ago or a decade ago, God is with us to help us work for reconciliation.

God’s purpose in creating humans in His likeness was that they would live in loving relationship with Him and with each other.

This all-powerful God is our Heavenly Father who takes great delight in us, His precious children.

God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. Galatians 5:22-23a CEV

God keep our land glorious and free. O Canada we stand on guard for thee.

If we find it hard to love those around us, let’s ask God to fill us with His love and goodness, so we can love others as He loves us.
