Meditations on "Integrity"

We are not shaped so much by our environment as we are by our perception of our environment. The way we think has a powerful impact on how we face life each day. If we are not thinking right, it will be reflected in our emotional state and in our actions.

God offers us comfort for our grief and healing for our hurts, but this requires complete honesty in what we are willing to reveal and deal with.

We experience true freedom when we have a clean slate before God.

True friends watch out for each other, share with each other, and even make sacrifices for each other.

God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. Galatians 5:22-23a CEV

The new life in recovery to which God invites us, is one of gentleness and speaking the truth in love to those around us.

Jesus is with us. He offers us a relationship that will fill our hearts with peace and joy. When we open our hearts to Jesus, He will teach us how to have a deep and abiding relationship with Him, and with others.

God alone knows what is best for each person. Only God has the foreknowledge necessary to guide us over the long haul.

As followers of Jesus we represent God in all our interactions. How would Jesus speak or behave towards another person? That answer should be our guide.

Practicing integrity and setting a good example are habits God says will not only help us but will also set an example for others to follow.

God created us to live for Him and has a specific plan for each of us. When our conscience is shaped by a wounded spirit, we will find we are constantly looking for affirmation and mechanically acting out of people pleasing motives, rather than behaving out of love that pleases God.

Confession of our sins gives us protection from the power and accusation of the evil one.
