Meditations on "Hope"

The contrast of destructive self-centeredness in active addiction versus the healthy lifestyle of supporting one another in recovery is clearly expressed in Promise 7 of A.A:- We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows. Learning and growing in our recovery and sharing our experience, strength, and hope with others, are ways we fulfill this principle

Today is a day to honour Fathers. Some of us are Fathers. All of us have a Father. The relationship of a loving Father to his child is a picture of God's heart for us.

People who walk with God in recovery look to Him for wisdom, hope, and direction

God can heal every heart-wrenching wound left by someone who let us down.

Irritability and anger are likely reflective of something going on deep inside us. We need to be willing to expose the underlying reason for our wounded heart.

The courage to change that Jesus offers us is the willingness to let go of those things that have kept us in bondage to hopelessness and instead begin to believe in His availability and willingness to heal us.

Becoming strong and steady in our recovery requires that we keep on listening to and learning from God's Word and from the experience, strength, and hope of others.

We wanted change but were not always willing to humbly ask God to make those changes in us.

As long as we are living and breathing, there is hope for us today.
