Meditations on "Recovery"

Everywhere we go we find doors -- apartment doors, elevator doors, bus or car doors.

We are faced with choices every day as we journey forward in recovery.

Almost everyone says they hate gossip and yet many of us are easily drawn into conversations that are unkind.

Gossip shows up in our lives in many forms. God hates them all because He knows how harmful destructive words are to our dignity and our relationships.

The practice of gossip is extremely destructive to our growth in living with God in recovery.

For some of us, coming into recovery has opened our eyes to the beauty of creation.

It’s inconvenient to be without water, for even a short time.

What would we think of an individual who was excitedly running up and down the streets telling us to come and see a man who was revealing all the details of our sins and failings?

Tweets on Twitter “go viral”. Instagram photos or Facebook posts often do the same.

To live without fear we must intentionally receive the kindness and tenderness that is offered by God.
