Meditations on "Recovery"

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

As we are learning to live one day at a time, it's essential that we come to God with the resolve to surrender our will and our lives into His care one day at a time, one moment at a time.

“Look, today I am giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse!

Repeatedly, we hear doctors encouraging us to exercise every day.

So watch your step, friends. Make sure there’s no evil unbelief lying around that will trip you up and throw you off course, diverting you from the living God.

Condemnation is another force that distorts our conscience and keeps us from living in God’s truth today.

God has created us as moral beings. He has given us a built-in monitor, a conscience that is intended to act as a guide in helping us recognize when our behaviour is right or wrong.

My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

When we come into recovery we know that changes need to be made if we hope to truly find abundant life.

Today we are continuing to look at some scenarios which will help us walk in the life-giving ways of peace and blessing that God desires for us to experience.

Who wants trouble? None of us do and as we listen to God’s counsel there’s a lot of trouble we can avoid.
