Meditations on "Surrender"

All through the Bible we read stories of how good friends cared for one another and helped each other draw closer to God and achieve the things God had prepared for them to do.

For a few days we've been looking at some of the claims of Jesus Christ -- that He was the Son of God, lived a sinless life, would die and rise again, and would go back to heaven to be with His Father.

To have God remove all our defects of character is to specifically ask Him to take away everything that hinders our ability to live fully in His love.

Many problems simply cannot go away until we become willing to let go of the thinking and believing that ties us to them.

We can solve personal problems only by becoming willing to change something about ourselves.

It’s time to agree with God and our own conscience about the exact nature of our wrongs.

The exact nature of our wrongs is that we think God is absent or surprised by our circumstances, particularly when they are bad, and suppose we have to fix the problem ourselves.

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

As we walk through the seasons of our life, we find ourselves wanting more out of life – more joy and peace, more meaning and satisfaction, more gentleness, more forgiveness and caring.
