Meditations on "Powerless"

When we lived in the chaos of our addictive lifestyle we were ruled by the obsession for our drug of choice or our dependency of the day.

A person with a victim mentality has learned to focus on suffering while trying to avoid more at any cost.

We have all sorts of reasons why we think we can’t change.

If we obsess on negative words that others have said it affects us and may contribute to relapse.

When we admit to our helpless state and surrender ourselves to the care of God, we will be born again into a new life.

Audio for FINDING THE STRENGTH AND HOPE WE NEED When we were in our addiction we didn’t take care of ourselves and now we realize our need for getting healthy and emotionally strong.

When we get rid of something bad in our lives, we need to fill the vacancy with something good.

Our pride often keeps us from asking to have our needs met.

Why would we continue to live life in our own way when it obviously isn’t pleasing, not even to us?

Happy New Year! Really? Some of us may have woken up this morning to the fact that our lives are unmanageable and that we are powerless over our addictive behaviour.
