Meditations on "Recovery"

Our weaknesses are no surprise to God. God strengthens us in areas where we have grown and encourages us in the areas where we still need to grow.

One of the greatest obstacles to receiving and living in God’s absolute forgiveness is that we haven’t truly repented.

Forgiveness happens when a person willingly forgives the wrongs that have been committed against them by another.

Coming into a recovery group setting is threatening for many of us.

Stress comes with daily living. Problems show up without notice.

When we are dealing with stress the slogan “this too shall pass” is a helpful principle to remember.

Many people who choose for life with God in recovery think they can live any way they want to as long as they attend meetings, complete an honest set of steps, pray on occasion, and don’t pick up.

The choices we make affect not only our own life but the lives of our loved ones as well.

How are we expected to know what is right? How do we know what is wrong?

Just for today I will be agreeable. I will not criticize, not find fault, and not try to improve or control anybody except myself.

As we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s birth, some of us may have negative memories and regrets about past Christmases.

The hustle and bustle of shopping and Christmas events is in full swing.
