Meditations on "Recovery"

In sobriety, we begin to be aware of how much spiritual poison we have allowed to build up in our hearts and minds.

Today in North America we honour and give thanks for the collective labour-force of people within our families, our communities, and our nation.

We tend to base our security on the experience of our personal relationship with others.

Just for today I will try to live in conscious contact with God praying only for knowledge of His will and the power to carry it out.

We all know that children need to be disciplined by wise guidance they receive from caring parents.

Envy is included on many lists of character defects.

Life with God in recovery includes recognizing where shame is active in us and inviting God to heal the wounds that have caused us embarrassment and humiliation.

An important part of living with God in recovery is coming to an accurate view of what went wrong in our relationships and doing our part to make things right.

Wealth is often seen as the source of contentment and happiness.

At one time or another all of us have surrendered to peer pressure.

We all need time to relax and unwind from the responsibilities of a busy day.

God's purpose in creating humans in His likeness was that they would live in loving relationship with Him and with each other.
